Cyprus and Malta to introduce euro

Posted Sunday, December 02, 2007, 9:28 PM by Lonely Planet It s out with the Maltese Lira and the Cypriot Pound as the two countries switch over to the Euro on January 1, 2008. With Malta and Cyprus on board there will be 15 nations and 318 million people using the currency. bad company credit repair

Regular travellers to Cyprus and Malta are urged to use up or exchange their leftover local currency before it becomes redundant. Using the Travelex Cash Passport is another option as it allows you to keep your leftover foreign currency for up to three years. bad card credit credit

Imagine being in a coma, with $100, 000 USD worth of local currency stashed away somewhere. You eventually wake, but to only realize that, due to the switch over to the euro, your money is now redundant! :P That would make a cool start for a short film ;) Remember to credit me! bad credit loan mortgage

Where is off-the-beaten path enough for ... - Thorn Tree Travel Forum - Lonely Planet

I am planning a trip w/ my parents (mid-50s) and grandparents to somewhere in MX, on either coast. I have been doing lots of research but it feels like everything recommended, even so-called not too touristy is still really touristy. I know there must be a Mexico out there that isn t swarming with Americans who like to eat in chain restaurants and stay in hotels with HBO, but I don t know how to find it! We can t go completely off-the-beaten path b/c I ll be traveling with my elderly relatives, but we really want to avoid those resort-y places everyone goes to for spring break. I think we ll probably want to rent a house and maybe a car. Ideally there would be some neat cultural stuff in the area. Playa Carmen has been recommended but it sounds very touristy--maybe there s another side to it I don t know about... I m hoping TTers are in the know about this! auto bad credit loan

thanks, mp413 Re: Where is off-the-beaten path enough for me, amenable enough for my family Posted: 02-Dec-2007 16:51 in response to: mp413 in response to: mp413 I just want to add the disclaimer that yes I know we can take a local bus an hour from anywhere and be in real Mexico but that s just not an option in this case. We need something kind of in-between that won t involve buses. We could rent a car though so we could get places buses go that way, we just need to figure out where. bad credit mortgage refinance

I like Melaque and twin city Barra de Navidad or San Blas aren t as popular or built up. Playa is very touristy, so is P.V., or other resorts. Why not check out some of the historical, colonial towns, such as Guanajuato, or Zacatecas, which we just did. Both were lots of fun, plenty of accommodations, museums, restaurants, and more mexican tourists than americans or europeans. Just a thought. bad credit refinance

Colima, Colima is a great place for mixed generations. Real middle class Mexico, few tourists, a nice safe place with lots of culture and with in easy driving of the coast. Lots of things going on with the University, dance, plays, exhibitions. The Colima State band plays in the gazebo in the park, Sundays at 7 PM. Several nice Museums and interesting nearby towns like Comala. There is a Saturday evening craft market and two local ruins. bad credit loan student

If you are renting a car it is easy driving. You can fly into Guadalajara or PV and bus from there (not sure I would want to drive in Guadalajara - PV would be OK.). You could also fly into the Manzanillo airport. I would rent the car in Colima, although the Manzanilla airport might work also. bad card credit

If you fly into Manzanilla you are very close to Melaque and Barra de Navidad that another poster recommended. There is a good local airport but it doesn t have international flights. You can fly to the Colima Airport from Mexico city and several other places in Mexico like Tijuana. Colima is 60 Km inland from the beach. The road is a 4 lane tollway. I am sure you could rent a house or apartment in Colima. The place to look would be the local daily paper, Diario de Colima. Last time there (July) I saw several funished rentals available by week or month. bad credit financing

Do you want a list of places where you and your family wouldn t want to go If you would specify the things you like and the things you dislike about being a tourist in Mexico, then we could perhaps help you. All of Mexico is real, but some parts are less crowded, cheaper, etc. than others. And many of the less crowded, cheaper, etc. places in Mexico are not interesting or charming, they re just not--for the most part--worth visiting. If you had posted the same type of question on the USA Branch, would it be helpful or useful if I recomended the state of North Dakota and small farming towns in western Kansas bad credit home loan mortgage

So . . . interested in mountains, beaches, archaeology/ruinas, colonial cities, nature preserves, pop culture, museums, camping on semi-deserted beaches, deserts, mountains, hiking, small dusty towns where no one speaks English and there s nothing to do, driving on impassable, frightening roads, hanging out with narco trafficers, etc bad credit loan people

If you just want to avoid Spring Breakers and a million drunken young American kids, don t go to beach towns during Spring Break. Otherwise, just browse the LP Mexico Guide (or another guidebook or two), select a few areas that seem interesting to you and then post here asking specific questions. If you re questions are to the point, you ll get lots of helpful comments and suggestions. bad card credit credit people

My problem is getting from Pakistan to Kyrgyzstan. I ve heard that it s much easier to fly to Almaty than to Bishkek, but I ll take either, really. I m wondering if someone can help me figure how to fly from Islamabad (or Lahore if need be) to either Almaty or Bishkek. I ve thought of going overland, but going through Afghanistan isn t feasible and going via the KKH through China seems an administrative nightmare. Since time is a bit short, I thought it easier to fly. bad credit home loan mobile
