I love the awkward sex scenes and the banter between the couple in this movie. It makes it feel less like a %omantic comedy% and more like the documentation of a normal couple. Unlike your atypical romantic comedy, there are no %ig gestures% or cheesy one-liners, but more awkward situations and %(hy did I say that% moments that, unfortunately, real life consists of. Julie Delpy% monologue at the end of the movie expresses the thoughts and emotions that many people feel while in a relationship, and capsulated the movie. There were parts of this movie that I found pretty funny, but I have a hard time believing Dane Cook as a romantic comedian, is that what you would call it Regardless, the big gesture at the end (like any romance movie) was odd... This movie failed to connect me with the characters and the chemistry between the actors just wasn t there. I m suppose to feel bad for this woman who s badly beaten and who s fianc is murdered, but the only insight into their relationship is a stroll in a park with their dog and a couple of flashbacks of them having sex - not to mention the chemistry between the actors wasn t there. I m just watching and thinking these are just two actors playing a role. Other than that there were multiple scenes that were just not needed. I guess they were to introduce me to Terrence Howard s character or give me insight into his character, but it didn t work. By the end of the movie, the two characters I WANTED to see more of was the art friend and Jodie Foster s neighbor, and those characters were only in the movie for about 15 mins. Being a fan of the books, I was disappointed with this movie. It was the longest book of the series, but the shortest movie. The film makers choose to leave A LOT out which happens with each movie... but going into the movie I was most excited to see what they did with the big fight scene at the end because it took up a good chunk of the book and it was so detailed... it fell flat. it wasn t aweful, but it was definitely not what i was hoping for. BUT I think Daniel Radcliffe is growing as an actor. El Cantante (R) I have seen El Cantante twice!!

I was fortunate to have seen the film in March at a special screening they had in Vegas . The critics were so wrong about this movie!! This movie made me and my white boy fiance dance in our seats the first time around! I laughed, cried, and reminisced. The music brought me back to my house as a little girl when my father would play Hector Lavoe s albums all of the time and I would dance with the mop!! Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez both did an excellent job acting out the life of a Puerto Rican Legend! You don t have to be Puerto Rican to appreciate this movie. I dragged two of my girlfriends that had no idea who Hector was, and they were not only impressed with Marc Jennifer s acting - they loved the music and both felt that the story was amazing and recommend it highly! This is a must see for those that love music, love stories, and stories about how life...even when you are at the top is not always easy! I saw a few different trailers for this one and I have to say that the idea IS EXACTLY the same as Rambo 3....In 3, Trautman and the team were captured behind the Afghan border and Rambo went in. This one...missionary s are captured behind the border and Rambo goes in. If it were me, I would like to see more of the character of Rambo going full circle back to his roots. Maybe making peace with the town of Hope that he blew up in the first one or just making some kind of peace with himself. I think people are fascinated more with the person he is instead of the Blood and Guts that they are going to spill in this one. But yes, I will go and check it out.
