RedDot's XCMS Content Collaboration Server Module to Manage and Drive Several Strategic Business Processes for Maryland's Leading Tourist Attraction

RedDot Solutions, (http://www.reddot.com), a leading provider of enterprise content management solutions, announced today that the National Aquarium in Baltimore, (http://www.aqua.org/), has selected the RedDot Extended Content Management Solution (XCMS) to automate and manage several strategic business processes for the organization. The adoption of XCMS extends the relationship between the Aquarium and RedDot Solutions, beyond Web content to include document management, collaboration and business process workflow.
The Aquarium has been using RedDot Content Management Server (CMS) for just over a year, to manage content on their corporate Web site. "The decision to upgrade to XCMS for content collaboration was made because of its strong workflow features and MS Office integration," said Hans Keller, chief technology officer, The National Aquarium in Baltimore. "Our people primarily use Outlook, so integrating the solution required less of a learning curve."

The Aquarium reviewed RedDot and several other vendors once they made the decision to manage internal documents and business processes. "Other vendors did some things well, but did not have the workflow functionality we needed," Keller said. "RedDot provided all the functionality we needed through one comprehensive system."

Since the end of May, the XCMS Content Collaboration Server has been managing several of the Aquarium's major business processes revolving around their projects office. The Aquarium is also looking at adding additional business processes in both the Marketing and Communications departments. "Our most visible process is the request for capital projects, so organizing the content and developing workflows for project status was a top priority," Keller said.
